Heat Wave 18th & 19th July 2022

Weather Forecast 18.07.22 and 19.07.22

Dear Parents/Carers,

The weather is predicted to be 37 degrees on Monday and 34 degrees on Tuesday.  We have made some changes to ensure we are keeping your children safe. As always, your child should bring their water bottle to nursery. We will ensure that this bottle is re-filled throughout the day, so that children remain hydrated throughout the day.

In order to ensure your children are safe and protected from the sun, please follow this guidance:

  • Children should wear summer clothing, (e.g. Shorts and T-Shirt or a dresses) please ensure no vests are worn underneath. A single layer of clothing only.
  • No coats, jumpers of fleeces to be worn
  • Please apply sun cream to all of your child’s skin which is not covered by their clothes before they arrive.
  • Children to bring a hat to school for when they are outside and they can also bring sunglasses if they wish. Outdoor play will be limited during the hottest hours of the day.
  • Children to bring their water bottles to school, filled with cold water.

We have had several parents indicate that they will prefer to keep their child/ children at home on these days as a precautionary measure. This is completely acceptable. However, if you do choose to do this, please email us or call to let us know your child will not be in. (Galton.nursery@gvps.sandwell.sch.uk)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind Regards

Nursery Manager
